money prints

I was kind of thinking I haven't blogged much recently about works in progress, so I thought I'd put up some old photos of a project that never quite worked out. I was trying to make paper money from a series of lino cuts of bits and pieces from the British Museum. I found some really thin paper and was quite happy with the images, and even had a little gold leaf element but I couldn't quite get it to all work together. I also wanted it to be double sided so it was like a real note and not just a print, discouraging people from framing it and forcing them to keep it safe. Sadly, the paper didn't stand up to this. One day, I hope I will return to the project and finish it. I have a few completed prototypes somewhere...
