the original perfect world at deichtorhallenLast night was the opening of Hauser & Wirth's posthumous exhibition of the scale model of Jason Rhoades Perfect World (originally exhibited in 1999). The exhibition will run until the 18th of December in Hauser & Wirth's Piccadilly gallery.
The original sculpture was an expansive, ever growing world made from polished aluminium and wooden triangular segments. Rhoades made this model to give those who missed the original exhibition a chance to see it, as well as to allow himself to view it in it's entirity. Elements of the model have been exhibited many times in the last decade but this is the first time that all components will appear together.
