hallo aus berlin project #1

cigar with cigar print

scratch card print

cigar print repeat

I've done a little work of a project using things that i brought back from Berlin. My intention is to make a project inspired by, but not about the location. So hopefully by the final outcome, this won't look like a travel project.

I was particularly pleased with the way that the cigar lino print gained lots of incidental black marks. Quite true to the way a burnt cigar behaves when you try and transport it.

I'm going to try and include as much of the process of this project on the internet at possible as i think the process may end up being the most interesting part.

berlin

I haven't been on the internet this week because I've been in Berlin having a wonderful time. There will be more on this to come I'm sure. While I was away, I got an email from no-isbn telling me that my book had been chosen to be displayed at the exhibition on saturday the 20th of march. so who knows what happened there...

starting on the cover for prism 2

Today I visited the British Museum. Then I came home and started work on my contribution to issue 2 of Rosa Tyhurst's Prism. I also made a start on the cover artwork. Here it is at the very start.
