architecture

I decided that the 2010 calendar would be the last thing I used triangles or date stampers as motifs. However, In the pursuit of hard contrasts and gradients ideal for photocopier collages, I have been collecting lots of abstracted shots of architecture around the city. These were to act as home-made replacements for the old photocopies I had previously been using in my compositions. It's kind of a cheat I guess, but I mainly did it as practice for evolving future work.

Maries Cafe, Lower Marsh, Waterloo

eggbaconchipsandbeans: Maries Cafe, Lower Marsh, Waterloo

The other day, we were trying to make it to the opening of the St Unicorn's Trust. We were too late and decided to have something to eat in Waterloo before going home. Well anyway, the place we ended up was probably the best cafe I've ever been to. Marie's Cafe sells the usual range of fry ups and good stuff, but on top of that, they also sell amazing Thai food. I also had a beer as they have a BYO policy (£1 corkage). If you are ever round the back of Waterloo station, you should go.
